Who we are

ArrivMate ("we", "us", "our") is operated from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We provide a personalised digital arrival guide for people moving to Australia on Working Holiday (subclass 417/462) and student visas. Our website is arrivmate.com.

What information we collect

Onboarding answers

When you use our personalised timeline tool, we ask you 8 questions: your country of origin, age, arrival date, arrival city, visa year, accommodation status, job status, and budget level. This information is used solely to generate your personalised arrival plan. If you do not create an account, this data is stored only in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Email address

If you choose to receive our free email guide or create an account, we collect your email address. We use this to send you the guide and, if you opt in, occasional updates about your arrival journey. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Usage data

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how people use our site — for example, which pages are visited and which onboarding questions cause drop-off. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep the site functioning (such as remembering your onboarding answers during a session). We may also use analytics cookies if you consent. Affiliate partner links may set their own cookies when you click through — these are governed by each partner's own privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use your information to: generate your personalised arrival plan, send you the free email guide if you request it, improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns, and respond to support queries. We do not use your information for any other purpose.

Affiliate partners

ArrivMate earns commissions when you click on affiliate partner links and make a purchase or sign up. When you click an affiliate link, you are taken to the partner's website, where their own privacy policy applies. We do not share your personal information with affiliate partners — they only know you came from ArrivMate via a tracking cookie or referral code.

For full details on how we work with affiliate partners, see our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the site (such as hosting and email delivery), but only to the extent necessary for them to provide those services. These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations.

Data storage and security

Your onboarding answers are stored locally in your browser unless you create an account. If you create an account, your data is stored securely on encrypted servers. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Australian users

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at the address below.

European users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and objection. Our legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (providing you with a personalised arrival guide) and consent (for email communications and non-essential cookies). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

UK users

If you are located in the United Kingdom, you have similar rights under the UK GDPR. The same contact details below apply.

Data retention

If you do not create an account, we do not retain your onboarding answers — they exist only in your browser session. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Account data is retained until you request deletion.

Children

ArrivMate is designed for people aged 18 and over, in line with Working Holiday visa eligibility requirements. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will note the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of ArrivMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
